A rather slender, sweetly scented, more or less hairy perennial with short ascending branches and simple or branched flowering stems 15-30 cm high, growing erect from a stoloniferous stock.

Fleurs : [rose-lilas, souvent blanchâtre locallement ; épanouisant d'en bas à haut], en verticilles tous axillaires, écartés, multiflores, compacts ; axe floral terminé par un petit faisceau de feuilles ; calice court, en cloche, velu, à 5 nervures un peu saillantes, à gorge nue, à 5 dents égales, triangulaires-aiguës, à peine plus longues que larges ; corolle velue en dedans
Floraison France : Juillet-octobre.
Flowers: 4 mm diam., in distant, leafy whorls, with the subtending leaves all about the same size; pedicels hairy; calyx teeth triangular, acute, much shorter than the campanulate, hairy tube; corolla blue-lilac, hairy inside, stamens exserted.
